About Michael Govan:

Michael Govan has been CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director of LACMA since 2006, overseeing the transformation of the museum’s 20-acre campus with buildings by Renzo Piano and monumental artworks by Chris Burden, Michael Heizer, Robert Irwin, Barbara Kruger, and others. At LACMA, Govan has emphasized collaborations between contemporary artists, architects, and the museum’s historical collections, shaping both exhibitions and public programming. Currently, LACMA is completing its new state-of-the-art permanent collection building designed by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Peter Zumthor.
