ArtViews is a series of panel discussions that addresses critical issues impacting museums today.

AFA’s Artviews 2019 will engage a panel of museum leaders in a critical discussion about the evolving role of art museums in our current cultural moment. As the arts community questions traditional narratives of national histories and international relationships, museums are crafting more inclusive and accessible histories of art. This Artviews will explore the way institutions of varying scales, missions, and regional identities are addressing their responsibilities, reconsidering their approaches to installations, exhibitions, and engagement, as well as collecting strategies, organizational structure, and staffing.

Panelists Include:

Darsie Alexander | Susan and Elihu Rose Chief Curator, The Jewish Museum
Courtney J. Martin | Director, Yale Center for British Art, New Haven, CT
Boon Hui Tan | Vice President of Global Arts & Cultural Programs and Director of Asia Society Museum, New York, NY
Andrew Walker | Executive Director, Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Fort Worth, TX

Moderator:
Andrew Eschelbacher | Curator, American Federation of Arts
