The AFA hosts two major benefits annually, in the fall and spring seasons. Our marquee annual event, the AFA Gala & Cultural Leadership Awards recognizes an artist and museum leader or philanthropist for outstanding contributions to the art community. The event brings together artists, museum directors, collectors, philanthropists, and art professionals at an elegant gala to celebrate the American Federation of Arts and the event’s honorees.
Previous recipients have included: Alice Walton, Charles and Valerie Diker, Kehinde Wiley, Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz, Marina Abramović, Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Frank Gehry, Roy Neuberger, Sarah Sze, and Eugene V. Thaw.
The AFA Spring Luncheon gathers passionate art collectors and scholars, prominent museum directors, and distinguished business professionals to support the AFA’s important work. We have had the privilege of hosting a fascinating roster of speakers including Marilyn Minter, Jeff Koons, Anne Pasternak and Will Cotton. Throughout the year, the AFA hosts specially curated trips to deepen our relationship with art, artists and the art community.
