The AFA is delighted to invite Members to a curator-led tour of Anonymous Was a Women at the Grey Art Museum on Wednesday, May 28th with Art Historian and Writer Nancy Princenthal. In 1996, artist and philanthropist Susan Unterberg founded the Anonymous Was A Woman award, making a commitment to address the lack of institutional support for women visual artists over the age of 40.
As an organization committed to elevating women in the arts, through landmark exhibitions such as Abstract Expressionism: The Women and Making Their Mark: Works from the Shah Garg Collection, and through free public programs like ArtViews: Gender and Cultural Norms, the AFA thrilled to explore this important presentation alongside our Members.
