Join us for a special private preview of Up on the Roof at Fort Gansevoort, led by renowned Louisiana-based artist Willie Birch.

This intimate evening will include a guided walkthrough of the exhibition, followed by an informal Q&A and mingling. Guests will enjoy a first look at twelve new large-scale paintings, each capturing the people, landscapes, and architecture of Birch’s New Orleans community. Working in his signature monochrome palette of charcoal and white acrylic, Birch blends everyday scenes with layered cultural and historical references, from African diasporic traditions to contemporary social realities. The exhibition precedes his forthcoming touring retrospective, Willie Birch: Stories to Tell, co-organized by the American Federation of Arts and the New Orleans Museum of Art.
